Hiya pals! We‘re Palace Productions, a theatre company established at the beginning of 2024. We are focused on producing feminist driven comedy and creating a space for Scottish comedy creatives.
Our roots are from Scotland but you will predominantly find us having a wee laugh in London.
Pink Palace Productions was founded by Isla Fairfield (she/ her) an actor, writer and theatre maker from Dunfermline, Fife.
Isla is 2023 MA Acting graduate from Mountview. Last summer, she brought her debut show ‘Hot Girl Summer’ to London and The Edinburgh Fringe. The play, inspired by her own personal experiences as a single Scottish woman in London and those experiences of friends, was a well out in London and sold out over 60% of all Edinburgh shows.
You may also know her as IslaFairlyFunny from TikTok where she posts fairly funny content there and via her Instagram independently and with BBC The Social.
Rhiannon Bird (she/ her) is an actor and theatre maker from Edinburgh. Rhiannon met Isla whilst studying at Mountview and has since joined The Clan as Pink Palace’s Associate Director. When she’s not up to her eyeballs in Procreate and Canva drafts the keen puppeteer can be found making puppets out of whatever she can find.
Currently she has been working hard to bring a brand new show to life, with her co-star puppet Kitty Dollparts.
A very serious show about porn... with puppets!
Join Rhiannon and her raunchy puppet co-performer Kitty Dollparts this March at The Camden People's Theatre. This ground breaking solo show all about pornography attempts to answer some big questions like... what separates porn from art? And can porn ever be feminist?
Our debut production HOT GIRL SUMMER, written and performed by our Isla, had a sold out preview this summer at The Kings Head Theatre in London before heading up to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for a successful run!
Post-breakup, Hot Girl Summer’s Tilly jets off on a girls’ trip to Barcelona and impulsively lands a job in London. Leaving behind her small-town in Scotland, she dives into her new life, and begins the treacherous journey of navigating life in “The Big Smoke”. She plans a summer like no other but the reality is far from the Pinterest board she has envisioned. Throwing herself into a whirlwind of Hinge dates she faces blatant misogyny whilst coming to terms with many of her insecurities and processing the grief of her late Mother.
